WHAT? 30 BELOW?

It's been brutally cold here. Temps well below 0 and wind chills up to 50 below! That's just too cold. Tyler and Hannah spent the night because it was just too cold to come and get them at night and bring them back the next morning.

Outside this window it was 28 below! And thats not with the 35 mph winds added in. But Grammy why can't we play outside?

Joni decided it was time to entertain these two for awhile and so a game of hide and seek began. I was baking in the kitchen and had left the pantry door open and they decided it was a great place to hide even thought the doors wouldn't shut.

So Wednesday was another day with the kids. Hannah woke up at 5:15 a.m. and went to the living room to drink coffee with Grandpa. Tyler was up by 5:30 and by 6 they wanted breakfast. What a way to start the day. After breakfast we made a batch of homemade play dough and they spent the next several hours at the counter rolling and cutting and shaping their dough. In the afternoon we were going to plow Kari & Jon's driveway so we bundled up the kids and loaded them into the pickup to take them home. Although they love to stay with us they were happy to be home.

Oh well spring is coming and before you know it Hannah and I will be back to our gardening.
