The Royal Gorge

We spent the day today at the Royal Gorge, which is about an hour Southwest of Colorado Springs. What a beautiful place! There is so much to see there that you need to definitely spend at least half the day there. At first the heights is kinda scary but you do get used to it after awhile.

This was the first lookout point we came to. Travis has just called Melissa on the phone and so that's why the phone is stuck to her ear.

This is looking straight down into the gorge. The Arkansas River runs through the bottom of the canyon. It is 1053 feet to the bottom!

This is the bridge we walked across. It is 1/4 mile long and goes all the way across the canyon. When we came back across the wind had picked up and we could feel the bridge lifting from the wind.

Taking a break in the big chair.

Melissa in the coffin.

I'm not sure what was going on here. I just took the picture.

Going down to the bottom of the Gorge.

The bridge from the bottom. As you can see we had a beautiful sunny 70 degree day. I hear Wisconsin was a little chilly and snowy. I have so many more pic but am tired of downloading and its getting late. Tomorrow is fence fixing day.
