MY LITTLE APPLE DUMPLING

Hannah loves to be in the kitchen, whether it is washing dishes or cooking. I found a recipe for Apple Dumplings and was planning to make them for dessert. As soon as I started getting out the dishes and ingredients, she grabbed her little stool and was ready to help. Now these dumplings are so easy even Hannah could make them. All I did was melt the butter and she did the rest. Her favorite part was rolling the apples up.

Of course, a sampling of the juice is necessary.
Here's the recipe.
And the finished dessert, ready to serve. We named them Sinful Apple Dumplings. You'll see why when you read the ingredients.
HANNAH'S SINFUL APPLE DUMPLINGS
2 Granny Smith apples
2 cans Pillsbury crescent rolls
2 sticks butter
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 can Mountain Dew
cinnamon
Peel and core apples. Cut apples into 8 slices each. Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll. Place in a 9 x 13 buttered pan. Melt butter, add butter and barely stir. Add vanilla, stir and pour over the apples. Pour half a can of Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan and drink the rest. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes. Serve hot with ice cream. See I told you it was sinful but they are good!
