LOOK OUT IOWA, HERE WE COME!

After the big wedding was over (I promise there is a story with pictures to come of the wedding, its still in the works) we took a road trip to Iowa for Trevor’s graduation party.

We traveled in a caravan style with the Pukans

And the Gilbys

The kids were pretty good travelers.  Of course we didn’t have any in our vehicle, except for Taylor once in awhile, so we only heard stories of badness at the rest area.

The guys were in charge of the grillin.  That would be Clark Griswold on your left, his cousin Eddie, and then Ernest, and last on your right is Uncle Buck.

Of course you can’t visit Iowa without slopping the hogs.

I think Uncle Buck was causing a few problems here with the kids.  Seems he was trying to turn them into Green Bay Packer fans and the Dads were having a problem with that.

Now they have to de-program the kids all over again.  Vikings fans are so easy that way.

Clark is such a hoot to have around.

But the big story of the weekend is about the “REDEMPTION CENTER”.  Apparently when these Iowans gather up this stuff:

they can take it to the “REDEMPTION CENTER” and get money for it!  So you don’t dare throw this stuff away cause its worth cold hard cash.

We left on Monday morning, which was Memorial Day.  At the cemetery in this little town, they put up a flag for every veteran buried there.  There were over 1300 flags flying.

Oh I forgot to take a picture of Trevor while we were there.  It was his graduation we went down to celebrate.  So here’s his graduation photo.

Congratulations Trevor!

I love the flags on the cemetary. What an awesome idea.
